Beginning Monday, February 3rd, we will be offering Open Play for a minimum of 3 courts on Mondays and Fridays to go along with Wednesdays. Shootouts are still in play on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there are 12 available courts to sign up for Open Play, take advantage of that. The more that shows up, the more fun can be had.

I made the mistake of entering all the Shootouts last October and was shocked to see they filled all the way till the end of April in like 2 weeks. For the new Open Play dates, I'll be entering them 2 weeks in advance. The beauty of this is that players can choose to enter into the Shootout event or Open Play.

This is where you all come in. So far everyone has been really great about signing themselves off when they were unable to make Open Play or a Shootout. We need to step up our game and take ourselves off immediately when we know we won't be able to make it, so your fellow players can get a chance to fill in and play. Last minute taking yourself off doesn't help the next person. Emergency's are Emergency's, I get that.

A lot of other facilities and Clubs are making us pay after signing up. I understand that. We don't want to do that. I feel if we all work together and look out for each other, this can run effectively and smoothly.

I lowered the capacity to 60 players for the Shootouts beginning February 3rd. The problem is there is up to 75 players signed up and we need to get it down to 60. I'm hoping you can go through your calendars and take yourself off so we can accomplish this the easiest way, especially the players who have signed up and are attending very rarely. Those that rarely miss, do not take yourselves off. I do not want to cancel a Shootout and eliminate everyone, then put it back up again to refill it. That would be annoying for everyone, including me.

So you know, since the beginning of the winter pickleball season in the beginning of November, everyone who wanted to play was able to get in. The waiting list has worked really well.
